The Port of Turku is situated on the southwestern coast of Finland in a sheltered location at the mouth of the river Aura, which runs through the city. The city centre is only 3 km away, easily accessible by a free shuttle bus (during each cruise vessel's call), local bus or a nice walk along the river promenade. The international airport is only 13 km from the port with direct flights to Stockholm, Copenhagen, Tallinn, Riga, Gdansk and Helsinki. There is plenty of quay space for both small and big ships and space for further expansion. A dedicated cruise berth for cruise vessels (max 170 m) was completed in summer 2008. The berth is in a prime location at the mouth of the river Aura right next to the medieval Turku Castle. A new marina for superyachts on the riverbank within walking distance from downtown was completed in 2010.

In addition to shuttle bus service, Port of Turku offers cruise vessels free reception of lavatory water in 2013. The water is pumped by tankers and transported to a collection point at the port area, where it connects to the city sewage treatment plant. The service is part of the port's support to saving the Baltic Sea.

A cruise vessel always brings a breath of fresh air to the destination. Turku makes every effort to ensure the international guests have a memorable stay in the city.
