The Port of Turku Today
Turku is the second most important port for general and unitized cargo in Finland after Helsinki. The Turku region constitutes a centre-point where different modes of transport are combined into an efficient logistics cluster. In practice it means that the whole of Finland is hinterland of the Port of Turku. Located in the most accessible part of the country, the modern and sheltered Port has the prerequisites to grow into a large distribution centre in the early years of a new millennium, serving all of Scandinavia, Northern Europe, the Baltic States and Russia.
