Waste management in the port area
In addition to arranging basic waste management for vessels traffic and the port area, the Port of Turku is responsible for the waste management of its own buildings.
Waste management in the port area is arranged in six waste stations. They have containers for mixed waste, metal, glass, cardboard and wood. By order the Port also takes in oily water, waste water, hazardous waste and class I food waste (food waste from international traffic) from vessels.
The real estates in the port area and their tenants have arranged their waste management by themselves.
